The name "Kidd Ranch" came from our great horse, Jody's Flame aka KIDD. Kidd is the reason that we bought the ranch and he is the reason why we continue to pursue our dreams of raising and riding great horses to follow in his footsteps. I (Carissa Bryant) was raised on a ranch in Stephenville, Texas. I rode in my first rodeo at the ripe age of 4. Kidd came into my life in 1990. Our dear friend Wanda Jetton owned Kidd at the time and wanted me to ride him and sell him for her. Needless to say, we ended up falling in love with Kidd and buying him ourselves. I have run barrels on him for 17 yrs now. I can honestly say that he has spoiled me & my mom! He has made it VERY difficult to find another horse that even comes half way near to the caliber of horse he is. Needless to say, Kidd is our PRIDE and JOY! Thanks to Kidd, he led me to many, many accomplishments in barrel racing! I am thankful of that everyday! |
| All together we own over 140 acres, which has 4 homes on it. On the ranch lives 4 generations. It is Jr. and Nelda Allred (1st generation), Toby and Tooter Allred (2nd generations), & Blu & Carissa Bryant, Prestyn & Tanner Hewitt, and Sterling & Cheyenne Bryant (3rd & 4th generations). We currently run horses and cattle on the ranch. During our free time we like to fish in our 25 acre lake or one of the stock ponds. During hunting season we get to see many different breeds of wildlife that the children love! |
